These Royals will ruin you.
Easton Royal has it all: looks, money, intelligence. His goal in life is to have as much fun as possible. He never thinks about the consequences because he doesn’t have to.
Until Hartley Wright appears, shaking up his easy life. She’s the one girl who’s said no, despite being attracted to him. Easton can’t figure her out and that makes her all the more irresistible.
Hartley doesn’t want him. She says he needs to grow up.
She might be right.
Rivals. Rules. Regrets. For the first time in Easton’s life, wearing a Royal crown isn’t enough. He’s about to learn that the higher you start, the harder you fall.
Easton is a self entitled asshole, and he’s not afraid to show it. That is why this book upset me. We got to know Easton in the first three books as the loyal, do-anything-for-the-ones-he-loves type, but in this book I didn’t see it at all. I liked Hartley, I liked the plot, I liked the characters, but something about Easton rubbed me the wrong way. He felt like the Easton from when Ella abandoned him magnified x 1000. And to everyone. Including Ella.
He sleeps with teachers, constantly thinks he’s better than everyone, doesn’t have any regard for anyone’s feelings, and it’s sad. I loved the Easton in the first three books, and I was sad that he seemed like a completely different person. That being said, I still loved the books, as negative as that whole bit sounded. I understand why Easton was the way that he was, especially because this book was now focused on him rather than Reed, so I’m not extremely upset by it, I was just extremely confused.
I loved that Hartley was able to put his ass into place, and she wasn’t the type of girl he’d normally go after. It was all very refreshing. I’d recommend Easton and Hartley’s story to anyone who enjoyed Ella and Reed’s story. They’re adorable, they’re fun, and they both have issues that need to be resolved. I can’t wait to hear if the twins are getting a story as well! We got a better look into their lives plus Lauren, and it was interesting to see how much of a witch she was.
