Wicked / A Wicked Trilogy

Rating within series: TBD

Individual rating: 4.3/5

Series rating: N/A

This time, I’m going to be reviewing the Book ‘Wicked’ by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Armentrout is currently one of my favorite authors after I fell in love with Daemon from her Lux series. I’m slowly reading through all of her books, so don’t be surprised if you see more reviews for her material!

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Ivy Morgan is a badass fae hunter who lost her mother and father when she was young. I enjoyed this book immensely! Armentrout has a way of making her characters come to life that I love, and I love that they’re all so diverse. Ivy and Kat (Lux) differ greatly. I liked Ivy’s character because she was so independent and she can take care of herself. I really enjoyed Ren’s character because he was protective, but not completely overbearing. He was a good match for her.

Tink’s dialogue constantly made me laugh, and he was one of my favorite characters in any of her book series. The plot was interesting and done in a way that I hadn’t really seen before. I usually can tell what’s going to happen, but I was genuinely surprised at the ending. I couldn’t put this book down. I read the entire thing in one sitting, and even went on to read the next one before I started this review (oops). This book is full of stubborn personalities and frustrating situations with surprises and twists at every turn. It kept me hooked, and I’m excited for the rest of the series.

I thought, as always, the writing was fabulous and I love the style. It was amazing overall, and I can’t wait to follow up on these books.

    1. Hi!
I’m so glad you liked my review!
To be honest, I’m really new to blogging and reviewing as well. I say one of the most important things is the way your blog looks and its aesthetic. I’ve tried out quite a few things and I still haven’t completely settled, I’ll probably change my layout again.
Don’t make your reviews too long, but also not too short. It’s all up to your preference, though. I prefer to make them a little longer because sometimes I wish reviews were longer.
Write about what you’d like to know about!! This is very important. If you are writing a review, be sure to include things you’d want to know.
If you haven’t already, you should make a Twitter, too. I’ve networked with some bloggers through there and it’s fun to meet people as well.
Post as much as you can at first! I actually had some reviews saved that I had written, then I post them when I’m in the middle of reading something.
Other than that, I’ll definitely check out your blog and give you a follow if I haven’t already!!
      Thank you!
